Popko Wiersma
wiersma.6@osu.edu
A postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Popko Wiersma joined
our group in 2005. He is currently working on several projects that
involve investigation into the relationship of metabolism to life
history evolution in temperate and tropical birds. |

Agustí
Muñoz-Garcia
munoz-garcia.1@osu.edu
From
Barcelona
,
Spain
, Agus Munoz-Garcia came to the
United States
to work on his Ph.D. thesis, entitled "the role of
sphingolipids in cutaneous water loss in birds". Agus is near
the end of his doctoral work and is planning to do postdoctoral work
in the near future.

Jenny Ro ro.25@osu.edu
Jenny Ro joined our group in 2004 as an undergraduate and decided to remain at OSU to work on her Ph.D. Jenny has become facile at mass spectrometry and is now using this instrument to study lipids in the skin of tropical and temperate birds. |

|
Jen Olson
olson.133@osu.edu
Jen is working towards her Ph.D degree in
Evolutionary and Ecological Physiology. She is interested in how
metabolic rate varies relative to environment in two species of
chickadees, Black capped and
Carolina
, and she is interested in how hybridization between these two
species might alter metabolic rate. |

Alex
champagne champagne.7@osu.edu A University Fellow, Alex joined our group in 2007 and is now working on developmental plasticity and adult phenotypic flexibility of cutaneous water loss relative to lipids in the stratum corneum of birds. |

Johnie Brown
BrownJC@appliedbiosystems.com
Dr. Johnie Brown is a senior
mass spectrometrist at Applied Biosystems in
Framingham
,
MA
. Johnie has been instrumental in helping us develop methods in mass
spectrometry to identify and quantify individual lipid molecules in
an extract.
