    Congratulations to Mr. Brandon Sullivan for winning the 2010 Graduate Associate Teaching Award.

  • FACULTY AWARD
    Congratulations to Dr. Venkat Gopalan who was awarded the Distinguished Teaching Award for the 2009-2010 academic year. The award was presented by President E. Gordon Gee.


  • FACULTY AWARD
    Dr. Michael K. Chan, Interim Chair, Dept. of Biochemistry and Professor , Dept. of Bio-chemistry, Chemistry and Ohio State Bio-chemistry Program Won the Distinguished Scholar Award. Dr. Chan is the co-discoverer of a new, 22nd genetically-encoded amino acid. Dr. Chan received his PhD in chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley in 1991. He completed his post-doctoral research at the California Institute of Technology.

    • Received an ASBMB 2010 Graduate/Postdoctoral travel Fellowship to attend the ASBMB 2010 Meeting, held in conjunction with Experimental Biology 2010, April 2010.
    • Was the 2009-2010 recipient of the Virginia Vivian Research Award supporting graduate research in Human Nutrition entitled: "The link between apocarotendoids and nuclear receptor signaling.”

    • Recipient of a 2011 OSU Presidential Fellowship
    • Recipient of the 2010 RNA Fellowship Award
    • Won 2nd place for Oral Presentations in the Mathematical and Physical Sciences category of the 23th Annual Hayes Graduate Research Forum.
    • Awarded an NIH Chemistry-Biology Interface Training Program Fellowship for 2007-2009
    • Winner of the University Fellowship for 2006-2007

  • Wen-I Luo

    • Won a poster award at the 2011 MLS-IGP Symposium
    • Received an ASBMB 2011 Graduate/Postdoctoral travel award to attend the ASBMB 2011 Meeting, held in conjunction with Experimental Biology 2011, April 2011.
    • Awarded a 2009 Alumni Grants for Graduate Research and Scholarship (AGGRS) by the Graduate School with the project title "The Role of Human Mortalin in Iron-Sulfur Cluster Biosynthesis."
