The meeting was called to order by President Deb Walters10:30 a.m.; she determined that a quorum was present (14).
Welcome,
Introduction & Announcements:
Attendance was recorded and the meeting agenda was distributed. Deb welcomed everyone to the meeting and made some brief announcements.
President: Deb Walters- see welcome/introduction.
President Elect: John Deller Mentioned that the call for papers for the Fish and Wildlife Conference would be announced soon. Theme of the conference is Can we live with exotics?, and the key note speaker is Chris Goddard.
Secretary/Treasurer: Stacy Xenakis - Financially the chapter is stable. The balance is inflated due to a $19,945.53 deposit for the cost of the stream book printing. The current balance is $24,336.35.
Newsletter Editor: Joe Mion no comments
Awards: Glenn Trueb Glenn put together a flier to advertise the student travel grant ($200 to send a student to the Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference). Deb handed these out for members to distribute.
Historian: Richard Day not present
Membership: John Navarro/ John Deller They put together a 15 minute presentation to inform potential recruits of membership benefits (see handout of slides). John N. asked for comments and suggestions on how to improve the presentation. John D. handed out a revised version of the OCAFS pamphlet.
Nominations: Ray Petering/Marc Smith Ray has a list of potential candidates that he used for last years nominations.
Programs and Fund Raising: Joe Mion no comments
Resolutions: Elmer Heyob no resolutions
Aquatic Education: Phil Hillman Phil met with Skip Trask about the instructional videos. Phil wants to try to put something together by December.
Great Lakes: Carey Knight Planning for the trawl workshop is complete. Carey wanted to know if we should make a donation to Paul Von Szalay. The group decided against it. Scott Burke will be coming to shoot footage of the workshop.
Rivers & Streams: Randy Sanders (given by D. Walters) He is finishing the last chapter and said that within a month it will be going to the printer.

Salmonid: Kevin Kayle Went to the annual summer meeting held in Lacrosse, WI July 6-8. They focused on three issues: ecological side, human dimensions, and public involvement. Mentioned the returning trend of tall grasses in the riparian corridor as opposed to trees.
Walleye: Deb Walters She and Scott Schell went to the Dubuque meeting. The focus of the meeting was to discuss how agencies handled walleye tournaments, and the wide array of regulations used. The committee is putting together a midwest summary of all walleye creel data, and will be meeting in St. Louis for a walleye recruitment symposium.
