Workstudy
Postions Available
Part-time Lab Assistantships in the Department of Biochemistry
provide the opportunity for undergraduate students to earn some
extra cash while learning about how a research laboratory operates.
Workstudy students have the opportunity to work with a faculty
member and with other lab personnel such as technicians, graduate
students, postdoctoral scientists, and perhaps other undergraduate
students. Responsibilities can include maintaining tissue cultures,
light research duties such as running electrophoresis gels, protein
purification, some molecular biology, lab maintenance such as washing
dishes, preparing buffers and reagents, etc.. Hours and responsibilities
depend on the faculty member, though most positions are for approximately
10 hours a week. Students must qualify for workstudy.
There are no Workstudy positions currently
available in the Department. Please check back later.
