The zebrafish facility at Ohio State University began in early 1998 and is run by the Beattie and Henion labs.

The facility is 600 sq feet and can hold approximately 10,000 fish. The recirculating wate r system and racks were designed and build by Aquatic Lab Design.
Zebrafish is an excellent model system for elucidating developmental processes due to their rapid, accessible development and the ability to induce and recover mutations. Current projects in the labs utilize both of these attributes in studying both peripheral and central nervous system development.
