Focus:
Reproduction in flowering plants, fertilization, embryogenesis; teaching methodologies for biologists.
Research Interests:
Dr. Jensen's main research interests are in sexual reproduction in flowering plants. He is particularly interested in the ultrastructure and cytochemistry of the megagametophyte, pollen and pollen tubes, and double fertilization. The events surrounding the entrance and discharge of the pollen tube into the embryo sac are the focus of current studies. He has also worked on pollen development in wheat and cotton and has studied the mode of action of chemical hybridizing agents.
