More than 100 years in the making, the conservatory collection began in 1884 with the construction of the first greenhouse on the OSU campus. Though no written records of the original specimens grown there have survived, University archive photos reveal a diverse and unique collection from the beginning. First Greenhouse circa 1900

Today the collection is especially rich in orchids, cacti and succulents. Our virtual tour allows visitors from afar to enjoy the tropical flora of the Biological Sciences Greenhouse Conservatory collection.

You are invited to visit in person Monday through Friday 8:30AM -4:30PM. The Conservatory is closed during scheduled class laboratory exercises, tours and other events, weekends and university recognized holidays. Visitors may wish to call ahead.
