From the President

Dear Fellow Alum:

It's been another exciting year for the Biological Sciences Alumni Society. We continue to be involved in the life of the College. One of our main commitments is to support its students; we sponsor an annual graduation lunch for graduates and their parents, work with Admissions on student recruitment, mentor current students, and set up a student scholarship fund.

Exciting times are ahead with plans for a golf outing, a fund-raiser that will benefit the scholarship fund; our annual tailgate; annual meeting and social event, "February Thaw" and a new "Island Hop" event at Stone Lab on Lake Erie, which is a cooperative event with other OSU clubs and societies, held for the first time in October 2002. We also encourage you to attend the Undergraduate Research Colloquium during Spring Quarter. It is really something to see the work of these bright, motivated students!

We hope more of you will join us. It's a chance to reach out, give back, have fun, make new friends, encourage students, and do something great!

Please visit our web site for more information on how to join, calendar of events, officers and contact information.

Best wishes,

Ron Schild
