From the President
Hello,
My name is Eric Burgess. I am a 1994 graduate of The College of Biological Sciences, with a degree in microbiology. I am proud to serve as the current president of the Biological Sciences Alumni Society.
Chartered in 1999, the Biological Sciences Alumni Society has one primary mission; to give our students continuous, unwavering support. Our college is recognized as a leader in undergraduate education, graduate training and world-class research. The alumni society realizes a key component of our college's excellence is the very talented pool of students it has been able to recruit and retain.
Our alumni society supports our students through several events and activities throughout the year, which include:
- Calling Night (undergraduate recruitment effort)
- Dinner for 12 Strangers (student/alumni networking)
- Annual Golf Outing (undergraduate scholarship fund raiser)
- Reunion Weekend and Buckeye football game
- Buckeye Island Hop (community service weekend)
- Career Day Alumni Panel (career advice for undergraduates)
- Metamorphosis (celebrating the year’s graduating class)
- Alumni Leaders Conference

I encourage current and future alumni of the college to get involved! The strength of our college is indelibly linked to the talents of our students. Likewise, the success of our alumni society hinges on the diversity of talents its members bring to it. Participation in the alumni society is one of the best ways to give back to our university.
