The Aquatic Ecology Laboratory Procedures Manual provides the background and information students and staff need to operate effectively within the AEL. This manual, which is issued to all new regular employees and students, clearly communicates the purpose, policies, and procedures of the Aquatic Ecology Laboratory. Policies provide guidance on everything from purchasing procedures to establishing who is eligible for travel support to national meetings; from how to ship live fish to inventory control and applying for collecting permits from the Division of Wildlife. Our goal with this manual is to prevent new students and employees from reinventing the wheel and to build on the previous experience of generations of students and technicians. We have intentionally incorporated as much flexibility as possible into the policies and procedures. Any and all policies and procedures are subject to appeal, revision, or elimination. | |
