Ohio State University has a large concentration of research labs with interests in RNA research. These laboratories constitute an interdisciplinary group focused on the biochemistry, molecular biology, structure and function of RNA. Organizing RNA research in this manner facilitates sharing of reagents and technologies, collaborations and joint research grants, expanded course offerings, and expanded opportunities for trainees to develop their research careers. In 2005, research expenditures for the RNA group totaled $5.7 million, resulting in 55 publications.
