The City of Columbus

The state's capital and nation's 16th largest city, Columbus is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United States and currently has a population of just over one million. Its growth has been spurred in part by its low-priced housing as compared to what is readily available on the coasts and other major metropolitan areas.  Columbus is primarily a service-industry community, and several Fortune 500 companies have headquarters or operations located in or around the city. Columbus has a thriving downtown complete with fine restaurants, a symphony, a ballet company, theatres, museums, and art galleries.  Sports also play a big part in Columbus life, with baseball, soccer, hockey and the OSU football games.
