I am a private pilot and I fly whenever possible.  I am instrument rated and have a seaplane rating. .  Seaplanes come in two basic varieties:  Pontoon type aircraft and  flying boats.  I have training in both types....the flying boats are really fun since you can drive it on the water like a jet ski.  I have been flying a "Sea Rey" (a flying boat) around Florida....there is water everywhere.  Here are some pictures of my latest foray into the world of splash and dash landings.  I like to fish with it as well.  I have also included pictures of Spruce Creek which is a fly-in community on the Central East coast near Daytona....the Sea Rey stays at Spruce Creek (7FL6)..

This is a Sea Rey...its a "flying boat" (fuselage is the boat part).   Here are some details:

Here I am doing a step taxi around the Lake (Mt. Dora)...this a great way to explore the waterways of Florida.  This side of the panel has the ELT and Avionics.

I was cleared to over-fly the space shuttle landing site at NASA....I took this picture at 500' AGL (above ground level) on final approach to the runway which is over 13,000' long....they would not let me land on the runway so when I asked to land in the canal on left, the controller said "no one ever asked to do that...I'll check with my supervisor"....about 30 sec. later he came on the radio and said...."sorry..no can do".
