Here is a listing of scholarships and fellowships available to our MG Honor's Students working in lab. The list may not be complete since things can change; however, you may wish to check with Arts and Sciences and University Honors as well.
1. Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Scholarships. Available usually in early February in ASC Honors office 208 Denny Hall. To be eligible, you must have attained junior standing and meet one of the following criteria: a potential candidate for with distinction graduation or other evidence for being ready to embark on a significant research project. Scholarships range from $500-3000 allocated over a 3-quarter period. The deadline is usually in late April. For further details, see ASC Honors.
2. University Honors Center Summer Resarch Internships. Awarded to promising with distinction candidates for summer research....for $1500. For further details, see University Honors or call 2-3135. Deadline is usually late in March.
3. Biological Sciences Small Grants Program. Designed to support candidates entering with distinction status. The College will transfer funds upon application to the Host Department's operating budget for use by the lab supporting the research. Contact the College of Biological Sciences for further details.
4. Phi Kappa Phi Undergraduate Enrichment Award. Awards $750 each year (three total). Deadline is year in April. Applicants must be 3rd or 4th year status, have a 3.7 GPA and plan to enroll at OSU the following academic year.
5. Sigma Xi Award. Sigma Xi gives a small cash award ($150) for undergraduates and an award plaque plus a subscription to American Scientist. Applications are due in January. For more information call Dr. David Culver at 292-6995.
