Graduate Programs
Ph.D. Degree in Biochemistry:
Graduate studies leading to the Ph.D. degree are offered through a unified campus-wide graduate program in which the faculty in the Department of Biochemistry participate along with other biochemists at The Ohio State University.

For further information on our Ph.D. graduate program and for application materials see:

Ohio State Biochemistry Program (OSBP)

Also, please note that OSBP does not offer a Masters degree track. See below for information on obtaining a Masters degree in biochemistry.

For information on graduate research opportunities within the Department, see the description of research opportunities and individual faculty research interests.

  M.S. Degree in Biochemistry:
The Department offers several degree options that lead to the Masters degree. The M.S. Degree with Emphasis in Biotechnology is a "purpose built" terminal Masters degree program designed specifically to train individuals for satisfying careers in the biotechnology industry.  The Combined B.S./M.S. Degree Program represents a relatatively new and accelerated dual degree program that is designed to lead to both the B.S. and a Masters degree in biochemistry in five years.

For further program information and application materials see:

M.S. Degree with Emphasis in Biotechnology

  M.S. Degree (thesis option)

  M.S. Degree (non-thesis option)

 Combined B.S./M.S. Degree (five-year program)

Applications should be placed on-line through The Ohio State University Graduate school (http://gradadmissions.osu.edu/) For further information on admission requirements and deadlines see: Graduate Admission Information

Please have your reference letters sent directly to our Departmental Office Attn: Graduate Admissions at the address shown at the bottom. (Note: Be sure to select "Biochemistry" under "Graduate Program Information" at that site for information on M.S. degrees and not "Biochemistry Program (Ohio State)" which is onlyfor the Ph.D. degree. For further information on the M.S. degree options call the Department office at (614) 292-6771 or contact Dr. Donald Dean, Chair of the Graduate Studies Committee, at dean.10@osu.eduor at (614) 292-8829.
