Penstemon cobaea is a member of Penstemon subg. Penstemon sect. Aurator (Bennett et al. 1987). It has the largest flowers of any species of the genus. Flower colors are lavender, pink, and white. This species grows very well in the prairie regions of North America, but is somewhat temperamental in other regions (wet soils are not tolerated). |
